When posting EVP's captured in the field, SSPRS makes every attempt to determine the reason for their presence on the
audio. We rule out everything we can possibly think of and then some, and make every attempt to be sure it is not
normal in nature before we post our findings.
We do have an extensive EVP library off site, but we only post ones that truely present good evidence for life after
death.
SSPRS does not claim these are the voices of the dead. That is our personal belief after many years of experience in
the field. We will leave you to make up your own mind.
The EVP files will are listed under the name of the site where they were captured, as well as relevant data regarding
the audio. To play a file, simply click the name of the file.

EVP CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM:
SSPRS uses the following classification
system for EVP work.
Class A - 100% audible,
clear voice & intelligent or reactive responses, not random noise or words. Example: having direct questions responded
to or reaction statement. Audible to the human ear no enhancements needed, no question to what the voice is saying.
Class B - Practically
audible, some doubt to the interpretation, syllables & consonant pronunciation is questionable. Appropriate tone &
timing to question or statement made by team member. Frequency levels are also undetermined, but usually found on the low
end of the spectrum. Non English EVP are placed in this category.
Class C -
Frequency levels support this unexplainable voice, not always audible, but some constants are present. Timing & tone apply
to this category. Direct response is not required. Random voices or tones apply in this category. Out of text words or phrases
that are not explained by correlating data.
*Please note the EVPS on this page are classified
at Class C or Above. There are EVP classes below this, but we will only post Class C's because anything below
a Class C is highly questionable.
Newport Memorial Building, Newport, TN
Baby Coo
This EVP was captured by a join investigation between SPIRIT and the former PSI Paranormal, now known as Southern States
Paranormal. It was captured inside a private business in Newport, TN. The device that captured it was an Olympus Digital Voice
Recorder 8 Hour 480PC. The room had a hot EMF spike that reached well over 15 mg. The investigator speaking is Joshua. The
beeping noises are the EMF meter, a CellSensor, going off.

Door Slam
This recording was taken during an attempted EVP session in the gymnasium of the building in Newport, TN from the prior
EVP of the baby cooing. It was recorded on the same recorder. In it, you can hear the investigators askin questions and finally,
asks one too many and then we captured one of the most violent occurences of psychokinetic movement we have ever encountered
on audio. By this time in the investigation, we had already had tons of PK activity take place and this was the cream of cake.
A door just a hundred or so feet away that was locked and shut, slams open of its own accord in response to the questioning.
Be advised. This recording does have graphic language.

"Be quiet until you're talked to!"
This EVP was captured at a private residence in Big Stone Gap, VA. The question
being asked was " Did you haunted this place just to scare your girlfriend?" and the response was, as we hear it, " Be quiet
until you're talked to!"

Ghost Fight
This evp was actually an extension of the one above. In fact, the statement, "
Be quiet until you're talked to!" was not meant for the investigators, but it seems like it was being said to another entity
present during the sessions.
In fact, we have good reason to believe
that the entity in the recording above is a male and the other spirit that is involved is a female. Judging by this recording,
the male spirit seems to tell the female to be quiet and then procedes to strike her, presumably in the face, making her go
" OH!"
You can hear everything, including the strike.

Private Residence, Clarksville, TN.
The following EVP's were captured by SSPRS on an investigation of a private home in Clarksville, TN. The residence in
question had experienced pronounced paranormal activity for sometime prior to our investigation by which time the family had
given up on trying to live in the home.
With their permission, we investigated and were able to capture the following two EVPs.
" I want to!"
This is the first evp in a set of two that occured in the same space of time in the same room of the house. While gender
is hard to determine, it does feel like its a younger sub adult, or an adult in their early twenties.
There was no one at the location that matches that description. Now, what is interesting, is that there was no one speaking
to the entities or trying to provoke at this time during the recording. In fact, the investigators were pulling an all nighter,
and were asleep next to the computers on the floor in the living room.
Bear in mind that the house is completely empty with no furniture, and there were no notable EMF spikes at the time of
this recording.
It is also worthy to note that the voice was captured not only on a digital hand held Panasonic recorder, but also on
a Hi8 8mm Camcorder.
We believe it is saying " I want to".
What the entity want's to do, is unknown.

Moan
This particular EVP is disturbing for a number of reasons.
Acorrding to the owners of the home, their son would spend hours talking to a non-existent man that he said wore dark
clothing, was elderly with white hair.
A similiar phantom appeared to Hydie Wyrick in their family hauntings years ago by the name of Mr. Gordy.
This EVP appears to the moan of an older gentleman, possibly with stiff joints, though why the pain of life would carry
over to death, we arent sure, unless its a purely psychological hold over the entity.
After the investigation, the family returned to the home to finish the moving process, and the son, who was not told
of the investigation, began to speak with someone who wasn't there.
By this time, the family was used to this. The son came to the family and told them that his "friend" told him that there
were strangers in the house last night, and the strangers were taking photos of him.
As eerie as this is, unfortunately, none of the photos came back with any activity noted.
Research into the property has been so far futile, as the property owner refuses to disclose information about past tenets
and court records are proving scarce indeed.
This EVP was played for a non-biased skeptical party who was not told what she would hear. Upon hearing the EVP, she
stated it seemed to her like a man in his late seventies to early eighties in pain. With professional background as a CNA
for a local nursing home, we feel inclined to feel as if she knows what she is talking about.
This sample is not the original. It has been cleaned up to clear up the hiss of the microphone and background noise.
The EVP itself, is very clear.
When frequency analysis was done on both samples, the moan and the previous sample, it was found to be far above the
human voice range possiblity, at around 5346 hZ.

This EVP is the clearest EVP we at SSPRS have ever captured. Previously, on investigations to Sensabaugh Tunnel, a local
infamous haunting long thought to be caused by a murder/suicide (the stories are completely untrue), we have captured nothing.
We did not expect to capture anything. In fact, we were joking about the Tunnel's lack of paranromal activity and how
people bought into the urban legends surrounding it. We did not hear a voice or see any type of phenomenon. However, Investigator
Ryan Skeen noted what he described as a rumbling noise, that no other investigator heard shortly after this EVP occurs in
the film. Whether or not the two are related, we do not know. EMF readings were measuring zero and temperature was normal
with no serious deviations.
The local lore states that Mr. Sensabaugh was a rich man who killed his family in the tunnel and then killed himself
OR that a hobo that was taken in by the Sensabaugh family was caught robbing the family and took a baby for a hostage and
ran. He entered the tunnel and drowned the baby in the small creek that runs outside the tunnel.
Upon checking into this story a few years ago when we did our original investigations, we found that not only was
niether of these stories true, but totally fictional in every respect.
The only deaths that occured at Sensabaugh Tunnel were during its construction, which involved seven Italian migrant
workers who were killed in a violent dynamite explosion accident. This event was witnessed by worker Francisco Anatolio, and
this record can be found at the Kingsport Public Library in the local folklore folder. You may have to ask a librarian to
find it for you.
Mr. Sensabaugh did not kill anyone. In fact, he was a very loving father and donated the land to the Clinch Field Railroad
that the tunnel was built on, and helped during its construction in the 1920s. He did however, have a habit of hiding in the
grass near the tunnel's mouth and making strange noises to scare off neckers and teenage vandals up until his death of natural
causes in the 1950's.
We have checked every newspaper we can and we have never found a report of a murder, suicide or kidnapping that involved
Sensabaugh Tunnel or took place there.
There is one more legend about the origin of the haunting, which is also completely untrue, which involves a woman who's
car malfunctioned. She supposedly stopped inside the tunnel and could not get her engine started and took her baby and proceded
to walk the length of the tunnel to get help from a nearby house. Of course, some horrible supernatural event killed
both her and the baby, but what event exactly, this legend leaves unclear.
There is no record of this ever having happened either.
The phenomenon reported to happen inside the tunnel are and all of which have been debunked by SSPRS numerous times:
*Car engine will not start if you stop in the middle of the tunnel and kill your motor and lay the keys on the dashboard.
*A shadow man apparition with flaming red eyes who appears in the rearview mirror.
*Babies crying and screaming.
*Handprints on cars of babies.
*Supposedly, according to Tennessee High School lore and a few other schools at that, no one has ever been able to walk
through the tunnel in the dark, alone and come out to speak about it. (we disproved this one too, multiple times.)
So, we are left with an out of place EVP, that appears to be pleading with us, "Please don't hurt me!" when were we not
speaking to any one or anything, when no female has ever been recorded as dying on the property and there appears to be no
explanation for the presence of this voice.
Click below and take a listen and see what you think.
"Please don't hurt me!"
Sensabaugh Tunnel Evp #2: " We Can Find Them!"
This EVP was captured during a session at the smaller tunnel that most people mistake for Sensabaugh Tunnel, which we
call Minor Tunnel or River Tunnel. This tunnel is used only as a river culvert and is not navigatable by car.
This tunnel is known or said to have a nasty atmosphere about it and there is an older Cherokee story about a creature
that roams the area of the Minor Tunnel called Ogalla-Logdall (spelling) which roughly translated means "spirit with knife
teeth". It was a demonic creature that had a nasty habit of supposedly ripping people apart.
We did not and have not ever encountered such a creature during our investigations there.
Below is the link to the second EVP we captured from 09/20/2008. We believe it is a male voice, stating " We Can Find
Them!"

This EVP was captured at approximately 11:46:22 PM EST on a SonyHandicam Hi8mm video-recorder. No visible manifestations
were found on any of the tapes.
This is just one of many we captured that night, but it is definitely one of the most creepy ones we have caught or heard.

"Josh!"
This is a Class A EVP that required no touching up, however, we did do a Noise Reduction to isolate the sound in a secondary
copy, both of which will be available here.
This voice occurs about 2 and half hours into the investigation, and calls an investigator by name. It is female, but
does not belong to the homeowner, or the other two females present.

The Flying Cat
This is a not an EVP par se, but is an audio recording of what appears to be a psychokinetic event that occured just
before two investigators were assaulted in an upstairs room by an unseen force, now believed to be one of the former inhabitants
of the home.
Ryan and Myself (Anthony) were in the dining room, while Khristina, Josh, Tim, and Ashleigh were upstairs in the daughters
room conducting an EVP session. Ryan seems to hear strange noises which do not show up on tape. Shortly after that, he goes
to the bottom of the stair well and asks the other investigators if they are moving furniture around up there, to which he
gets a "no".
The split second after he asks this, a rather large cat, one that doozing peacefully earlier during the walkthrough,
comes flying down the stairs and crashes into the far wall at the foot of the stairs in a heap before getting up and shaking
its head and running off.
This would not be so strange, if the cat had not been SIDEWAYS when it was coming down the stairs, not to mention the
fact that it was a foot off the ground during its flight and it struck the wall sideways, almost as if it had been kicked.
Don't worry. The cat is fine. We checked. We unfortunately, did not have a camera trained on the stairwell.
The laughter is not at the cat, but rather at Ryan's reaction at having this furry clawed missle flung at his feet.
PS
Ryan, we all love you bro. Just stay AWAY from the cats in the future. The next one might not miss.

"Ghostly Laugh, BOO!"
Captured Date: 03/13/2009
Captured On: RCA Digital Recorder, 18 Hour, USB.
Captured Where: Private Residence, Middle, TN.
This the first EVP we found upon review of the audio from the investigation. The sound appears to be a female, possibly
two, female voices, at 344.5 Hz; one appears to be laughing at the situation and the other voice is lower, at 340 Hz, and
seems to be slightly deeper and exclaims with a loud BOO, which we must admit, we never expected any real ghost to do.
There were no children in the house, only the two investigators, the clients, husband and wife. We were on the second
story, and we prepping to go dark and you can clearly hear the only other female present, the client's wife, speaking while
this other unknown female voice or voices over talks her.
While not responding to any type of question, we were discussing how the investigation would procede with the clients
and we were trying to be as light as possible to lighten the atmosphere and help everyone to relax. Apparently, we had unseen
guests.
We feel that this is a Class A recording and would appreciate your views as well.
"Joe Laird!"
Captured Date:03/13/2009
Captured On: RCA Digital Audio Recorder, 18 Hour, USB. Location: Private Residence,
West TN.
This recording appears to be of a man, with a gruff voice and a thick Appalachian Hills accent. He appears to be saying
a name, Joe Laird or Joe Lard. We did conduct research into the name, and found only a pastor who was born in 1888 and
died in the late 1960s. He does not appear to be connected to the property in any way we can find, and he lived and died of
natural causes three hours to the east of the property.
The surname Laird was fairly common in the town we were in and the surrounding hills, but upon checking the local cemetery,
we were surprised to find no Lairds, despite this common name.
Unfortunately, many if not all the original documents on the house were destroyed by an irate former owner and the court
house burned down in 1888, destroying every record in it. With the house being built in 1850, it most likely anything from
that time frame went up in flames.
The mystery is...who is Joseph Laird?
"Help me..."
Captured Date: 03/13/2009

Captured Where: Private Residence, Middle, TN.
This is a Class B EVP that was captured in the lower bedroom on the first floor of the home. We feel that it is
a little girl's voice saying help me, but the words are not as strong as we would like. However, we do also have multiple
instances of this same child's voice giggling and laughing throughout the night.
